Blackdown IT offers you a plethora of options when it comes to communicating with users based on their interactions with the auction site. Prior to going live with your Auction-Pro auction site, it is important that you edit each and every email to your own specifications.

Settings > Email Settings

Mail Protocol > The options are: Mail, SMTP, Sendmail, Qmail and Never send emails. We strongly suggest that you use SMTP mail.

Additional Admin E-Mails > Additional email accounts you want to receive admin related email, in addition to the main site email address. (comma separated)

Note that you can test your email settings by clicking the "Email Test" button.

Email Templates

There are email templates defined for numerous occurrences within the Auction-Pro auction application. Under "Email Title" you can see what triggers the specific email. Under subject, you can see the emails subject that we have defined. You can alter both the subject line of the email but more importantly, also the contents of the emails.

On the right hand side of the email template table, you see two toggle switches. You can toggle each and every template on or off for your users (clients) and additionally you can toggle email templates on/off for the admin so that the admin either receives copies of these emails or not. This functionality opens up a range of possibilities particularly if e.g. you want to integrate with the Monday.com CRM or Workflow platform to up your communication game even further.

What the templates contain

In the image below, we have highlighted two areas in red. The first area reminds the admin what the particular email's purpose is. The second area shows you what the shortcodes are that are available for that very email template. We suggest that you don't delete these areas whilst you are familiarising yourself with Auction-Pro. Once you go live, the contents of these two highlighted areas should be deleted and the template prepared for your particular circumstances.

You are able to insert elements into your template, format them and you can add shortcodes.

If you are making changes to the template, ensure that you click the "update" button since if you were to leave that page, your changes would be lost otherwise

The Blackdown IT logo shown in the email template is a logo that is hosted on a website. We recommend that if you wish to feature your logo in your email template, that you link to it from your site also.
